Reply to Three of the very biggest shows on right now (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian and Yellowstone) are western inspired by RusevReigns
Isn't Yellowstone just Dallas or Knots Landing (or any 80's prime time soap) but set in the west, not in any way an actual western?

TV's not homework or your job.
Watch whatever you want and stop whenever you want.
/end of every thread ever posted with this same premise.

Non-currently running shows I watch seasons at a time and then watch other seasons of other shows before coming back for the next season.
Just a way of extending the length of time I have with a show. I'm not particularly looking to speed run a show if I actually like it.

Only the filmmakers can speak for themselves, but what you just described sounds like they'd take as a win.

Most people have sense to not walk into Garfield 2.

Reply to comment by lpat93 in why do series shows always have so many seemingly random people directing every episode? by OctoberRust13
3 camera sitcoms, unlike dramas, only film 1 episode a week, so it's easier for the director to be involved in the whole process from beginning to end. They also are less logistically challenging since the action is largely confined to the 3-4 sets all on the same stage.

Reply to Which is worse? A show that is "worth the wait" because it finally becomes good after wasting your time for half the series? Or a show that just plain sucks all the way through and can be dumped early without missing anything? by slicerprime
They're the same show to me.
Shows may take time to grow into something special, but they rarely show no promise to begin with, so it's just a natural curve.
Any show that I've been told "it gets better" that I didn't like to begin with, never actually got better.

They didn't cut the staff that works on their app, because I'm pretty sure they don't have any such people.
It really is the worst of the worst.

I know, it just feels so different than in the old days even they were shot on soundstages that were....30 feet deep....

It makes you nostalgic for the cheap foreign imports that SyFy was peddling years ago - at least they were trying and could be fun.
This is just low effort and cheap.
