VFW Parkway rotary in West Roxbury has one too. We were in the car and it was red and we had to stop IN the rotary. It felt wrong. Like we were exposed. I’m like who the hell did this. It’s so stupid.

If the Charlie card is registered from the Charlie Card store it’ll have someones name linked to it. I lost my old one that had $20 on it. Went to the store at Downtown crossing and they were able to issue me a new one with $20 on it. My name was linked to it.

My schedule fluctuates so I tend to add on a weekly basis instead of buying passes. I do save a ton of money. I think one month I saved like $50. Pass was $90 and I spent half in travel. For me it also depends on timing. Getting to work I do train and bus but coming home I could do two buses if I time it right so I don’t have a long wait in between. That way it’s cheaper.

Usually the places to meet people and be chummy are: the neighbors, school and work. That’s where anyone meets someone and then friendships form. If you’re in the city (like downtown) 99.9% of the people work in town and live somewhere else so no one is gonna stop to chat or make friends. They’re either on their lunch break or commuting.

Try going to common interest type events. Museums, book clubs, even bars. Something you share an interest with. If you hit it off and numbers are exchanged: bam! Makings of a friend.

But yes, there’s friendly like chit chat on the bus friendly and then you never see them again and then there’s solid friendship.
