This and things like this https://jalopnik.com/public-ev-charging-sucks-bad-payment-apps-electric-car-1850184391 are what make me think twice. Personally, I don't need a charger in a city or garage, but they need to be as easy, reliable and ubiquitous as gas stations. And why oh why do we have to go down the cell phone/multiple standards route.

well now you've got me wanting to read the books again AND goto the Parker house.

I can only recall the 80s TV Spenser - a Renaissance man who drives a classic mustang, carries a gun and is always ready for a fight. He's out there somewhere!

sorry to not answer the question, but did Spenser visit the Parker house a lot? It's been so long since I read the books and/or saw the TV show (I remember seeing it being filmed). I always liked how Boston and the surrounding areas were basically another character. If you like that style, I recommend Michael Connelly + Bosch / Los Angeles.

Park in the Boston common garage. Not too far a walk from there. Lots of restaurants around, just yelp it. I'd probably use it as an excuse to goto the north end, but does everyone want todo that long of a walk?

If you are coming down route 3, it might be better to stop in Burlington.

Reply to Road Salt by Dr_ThunderMD

My guess is that extra was used this time because of the rain/snow/wind/icing potential and they wanted to really make sure the roads were passable. It's like that way over in Nashua and surrounding areas too. Agreed on the salt impact, but I have no idea on the effectiveness of the alternatives.

It's pretty rural, but you'll be close to work. For the area, the main strip isn't that bad - Walgreens, diner, liquor store, dominoes, rail trail, Cumberland, grocery, dunkin, pizza, hardware store, etc. They have good 4th of July fireworks! You aren't too far from Nashua, NH with shopping, restaurants, whatever. Not too far from Boston, can take the train from Ayer. Route 119 goes right through Groton and connects to i495 and route 2 isn't that far. You have options, depending on what you're looking for.

I understand what you're saying. My take is that our infrastructure was built many years ago. If a town truly wanted to fund all the maintenance projects, it would keep track of the lifetime of each capital item, then assign a lifetime, then add a yearly budget item to save for it. Just like most homeowners don't do this for their roof or furnace or central air, neither do the towns. Priorities shift, tax dollars become scarce and costs rise. Would you rather fund the school budget or maybe let the roads/sidewalks go another year? what about the police/fire/etc Maybe the road/sidewalk is due to be replaced, but its a 25 year plan and the NE weather has destroyed it in 20. Lots of issues, but it always comes down to $ (taxes)

I know this is south, but I found out a few years ago a semi truck can get on at the Milford connector and go North all the way to the exit before the tunnel. I tried to warn him and then just tried to stay ahead because I didn't want to get stuck behind him for hours.
