Reply to Advice to stream NAS Flac to an HP ampli by dioverme
Bluesound node has digital in via USB and optical, and I believe it can read a NAS or USB drive directly without a computer. You can use that as a streamer and go RCA out to a fancy HP amplifier or just use the built-in HP amplifier on the node. If you’re willing to invest more money, you can go with a computer with Roon on it which will let you manage your NAS files and streaming (from Qobuz or Tidal) in the same interface. This will let you also access all that music on the go as well. Maybe as a next step upgrade down the line… :)

Congrats! I do wish that you had gone with a picture of the headphones themselves as opposed to some cardboard…

I thought it had too much of a bass boost when I heard it. Went home and checked FR - yup, it’s boosted to hell at 100 Hz with possible dips in the sub-bass. I was not a fan of the signature. But it looks the business 👌

It’s crazy you guys think these are basic pieces. The modi and magni are really well measuring pieces and in the top categories on ASR if I remember correctly. Price isn’t a spec y’all.

Reply to Is it ok to sweat in headphones? by MustafaHamad
I’ve worked out in my Bang & Olufsen H4s for years now and nothing has happened to them. Sure the lamb skin leather pads are a bit discolored but that’s to be expected. I don’t do cardio in them, just weight lifting so I sweat a bit on them but not a huge amount. Functionally, they’re still perfect. Obviously this is true of my B&O cans, so YMMV.

I’m not saying they should make it lightning only. Just offer a choice for people who have iPhones - it can only help your market share. But downvote away… lol

Yes this is a questionable choice. Sure MFI might add a bit more to the cost, but literally half the people of the smartphone world use iPhones.

Y’all are all wrong. That’s actually a cosine wave.

It would make sense to put the DAC and amp into the USB-C side of a cable, apple style, and output to an analogue 2 pin connector on the earphone side and let users plug whichever moondrop IEM they want.

Apple dongle is good sound wise. But it is rather flimsy and I find it twists itself up so much while in use that it doesn’t look like it will last a long time. Mine hasn’t broken yet but just… looks like it will lol.

Reply to Why do people buy more than thousand dollar headphones instead of speakers? by BC_LOFASZ
It’s good to have both (if you can afford it). I agree speakers are more enjoyable than headphones, especially if physicality and stage are important to you. On the other hand, it is hard to get clean sound out of speakers without room treatments and correction, and that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. If you had to chose one, I can see why a lot of people would go the headphone route given certain lifestyle constraints. I read somewhere that speakers put you inside the music, and headphones put the music inside of you. As a music lover, both are feelings you want to have ;-)
