I’ve seen the videos of how deep this station is but are these numbers accurate? He’s greatly complimented the E train speed so maybe he’s also embellishing the time to walk in/out the station at Madison. I’m actually trying to find a new place near an LIRR stop with east side access so just curious. Especially if it’s 5-10 minutes of walking in test trials, I can’t imagine a packed rush hour pace.

Did I do any of that? That’s why I said people like you have a real problem. You deal in absolutes and that’s a problem and an asshole thing.

Regarding Traffic, it’s a New York thing. Subways have traffic in one way tunnels. Transportation is forever fucked in this city. There was traffic 50 years ago with less than half the amount of cars. There’s traffic for no reason that seemingly opens up with no accidents or road work to explain it.

People also don’t have a roof over their head or food on the table. I don’t see the argument there. Absolutely people lived without a car before and now but if it makes your life easier, and you want it, why wouldn’t you utilize it? The problem with you people is that you have a problem with someone else doing it. It’s mind boggling how hate filled you people are and just don’t see it.

Never heard of it. My car is parked in my living room and I drive down my 3rd floor walk up right into grocery stores even. Don’t need to find a shopping cart. The idiocy is beyond me.

OK, but you can go on your delusional rants elsewhere. I didn’t even know that there was a gas tax holiday unfortunately, whatever the prices of gasoline is, I’ll be paying it. I wasn’t saying come subsidize me with the life-changing $.40 a gallon. But on top of that if you want to talk shit about New York, we all subsidize public transit because our disgusting MTA steals billions of dollars a year and it’s subsidized with taxes, whereas every other public transport system in the world runs clean trains and stations, efficient, and self-sufficient.

Oh, and lastly I don’t drive to work. But doesn’t mean you can say stupid shit about people’s needs or health. I don’t talk shit about people that wanna bike or take a bus or a train or a car and maybe you should elevate yourself to be that kind of person as well.

Then I’d recommend trying out a car to get them place to place with the strollers and diaper bags and all. Unless you live in Manhattan with endless taxis and subways a few steps away. Then a car would actually cost more.

I don’t think I said that there won’t be any increase. I said I don’t foresee an increase to meet demand and even if that increase of chargers happens, the power grid can’t handle it if in 2022 we still can’t handle winter storms in a city geographically situated to be prone to winter storms.

We also can’t handle the heat in the summers. I get con-Ed messages every summer urging decrease in consumption.

I’m not against it. By all means, I think we should have 100% nuclear power supplemented with solar, hydro and wind where feasible and everything should be electric. That way everything is actually clean energy (and cheap). I just don’t see it happening in the timeframe people aspire to, or even the government thinks it can mandate.

So you foresee that in a decade not only will their be more public chargers ala gas stations but the actual electrical grid will be able to support it? I question the grid, not to mention I doubt enough electric chargers to support a dense city like NY. We would need more Chargers the gas pumps because filling up is five minutes but charging is at least 20 to 30 minutes best case.

Mind you NYC grid is mostly fossil fuels since the closing of Indian Point.

Real question. Con-Ed messaged all of us to cut back on electricity because of an expected winter storm. “Don’t use washers, dryers, dishwashers” etc. how can we then possibly be even close to having. Large electric car population in civilian hands. Like if everyone got a free swap for their ICE cars to an electrics and just 25% of the city switches. Could we even handle it? We have no where near enough public chargers available as is. And it seems even if everyone charged at home the grid can’t handle it.

Please educate me if I’m missing something.
