Sitcoms really don't hurt having long seasons but dramas and other one hour shows don't need more than 12 episodes a season.

UBI and socialized housing along with a rapid expansion of the social safety net and shortening of the work week would likely have to be implemented in order to transition to a post scarcity economy. A transition would likely happen over the course of decades as opposed to rapidly over 5-10 years.

Voyager just now barely left our solar system after what 45 years? Odds are if an alien species did find the Voyager craft they would already be advanced enough to be right next to Earth (cosmically speaking) anyway.
