Honestly, pretty bleak at the moment with the ban tiktok bill. I saw some guy on youtube go through and read all the extras that were tact on to the bill. And holy hell is the US going to be an orweillian nightmare if it passes, because it would give big tech companies a legal way to remove competitors including open source software

Wouldnt the ban tiktok bill interfere with that since just using vpn would get you jailed?

huh, on one hand I think this is extremely cool, I've actually thought about doing this, but on the other hand, this might actually worsen food safety and create more deceptive commodity that ends up on the market.
For example, creating a crab roll or something crab in it. The filament will taste like crab, the packaging will say it's crab, the filament will even look like crab would if it were processed, and the stuff inside will be organic, but instead of crab, it's made from bugs that have the same flavor profile as crab. Yes bugs are eaten in different cultures and are more carbon zero than live stock, but the point is that i could see bad actors doing this.
Another thing I could see going wrong is that this companies could do what they are already doing, add additives that are addicting to the food, encouraging an unhealthy life style. Not to mention drug dealers could start lacing these so that their clients/prey would be both fed and keep coming back for more. Which would put more emphasis on going organic...god I really hope grocery stores don't use that as an excuse to make organic food even more expensive.
On the bright side, if people want to go vegan, this would be a good gate way to do so.

I know, but it'd be great if there we more options than just loss of life

I get that, and see this is why I'm asking since I'm pretty ignorant about the realities of war, but shouldn't it be a solution to look into on the possibility that it exists?

switch to lethal knowing at least 500 aren't dead? I know it's more effective to make sure a body won't move again, but we have the means and the science to reduce that number.

That is true, i guess its just me worrying about how more work and thinking is going to have to go into discerning truth. Honestly, I really hope ai helps stop scammers, or that we can jump ahead of them.

you do realize that the fact that we are on a site that began with bot users to make it seem lived in to draw in a crowd means we're next, right? Not trying to be mean, just trying to point that out.

Well get used to it, all the tech bros like elon musk and jeff bezos praise china for their model and think the us should adopt it, so odds are it will be adopted by the us, maybe not in main media outlets right away, but odds are all tech companies will probably have an ai mascot to act as the company's mouth piece...you know, if the economy doesn't collapse this year.

Honestly, it's not the agencies you have to worry about, it's the corporations with aggressive marketing tactics, and even unethical ones like slandering their competitors
