This. There are multiple known issues for the door hinge mechanisms all over the internet. For mine, the door stopped closing all the way because the tiny guide for the rail is a cheap piece of plastic that slowly wears. Found others on the internet that made a replacement part from home depot pieces for $2 but breville won't sell you one. The best they would offer was to send it in for half the cost of a new one, or (after being very persistent) 25 or 50% off (can't remember) on a new one.

I ended up painstakingly taking it apart and repairing the existing guide myself.

I used to be a huge promoter of these products but it made me sour enough that I don't really suggest them anymore.
