Aww that’s awesome! So you toured in person? Did you also tour Solaris Lofts? We can’t visit in person so I’m trying my best to get a good sense of what we should ultimately choose! Hope to cross paths with you and the fam!

Wow this is incredibly helpful! I just looked at Solaris as that didn’t come up when I was searching. Seems to be a bit more expensive but will definitely check it our per your recommendation! Thank you so much!

Thank you! I really appreciate it again. Hope to cross paths someday if we do end up moving there!

Thank you so much!! We honestly need to be more budget conscious so I was hoping 295J would work out! I’m not able to move with him, so we have to account for frequent flights and other things. We also don’t anticipate having a lot of visitors other than myself and maybe our younger siblings, so quality isn’t a huge deal. I will work from home during the day when visiting but can always go elsewhere in the building, and he will be gone pretty much all day unless he is on nights or post call so construction shouldn’t be a problem.
I really really appreciate your feedback! It’s so helpful to hear from an actual resident and has made me few more confident in probably choosing 295J. We don’t live in a luxury building right now but do have gym access and a package room, so things like that are always nice.
Thank you again!!!

Have you heard anything about 295J? We are highly considering it. Trying to go to a complex the first year since he will be on his own and have little time to go somewhere for gym access/ laundry if needed. Thanks again!

He will be pretty evenly splitting his time between CarePoint Bayonne, Hoboken, and Christ.

Thank you so much! This is incredibly helpful. What do you think about the downtown area like The Village?

He will be at Hoboken and Jersey a city about 2/3 of the year and Bayonne 1/3 of the year. He will probably be going though when traffic is a bit less bad because it’s surgery residency but that’s a great point!

Yes he will be at Christ Hospital! Sorry I should have noted that.

Thank you so much! This is super helpful! Have you happened to come across anyone living at 134 Baldwin Avenue? I just found that building and know it’s more corporate but seems like it would be really perfect for him. It does seem that the area you’re talking about would be ideal because it’s so close to CarePoint. Your comment also makes me feel so much better about the move! Thank you so much!

Thank you! He will have his bike from here so that’s really helpful to know. He will need a car for rotations at other hospitals and when he’s on call so that’s definitely something we have to factor in. Thanks again!

Haha oh perfect! See that’s what I don’t know! I’m like people say it’s a bit sketchier but like what is the comparison!? Thanks so much! I know people on NYC area always roll their eyes at us from the south but I understand that expectations and living situations are vastly different!

I’ve read a bit about Bergen-Lafayette and wasn’t sure about safety. Seems like it’d probably be fine. We live in Houston. I’ve lived in New Haven. Just don’t want to have to get a window fixed all the time lol!

I just listed some nice to have things. The main thing is being central to those three locations and safe enough to have a car to park/ bike in mornings. Budget is probably around $2000-2400 if it has laundry in building or unit. PATH is not necessary. I have lived in New Haven, CT for two years and briefly lived in Washington Heights so am definitely familiar with how things are different.

Oh what! That’s so cool! Thank you so much for sharing. We are doing a virtual tour today and then will probably apply. I am excited about the amenities as well given that I work from home and will be there a fair bit. I’m excited for your son! I’m sure the pool and rooftop will be very fun for him!
