As I understand it the same thing happened to the original Star Trek series. It was a "loss" on prime time but its syndication allowed it to be aired cheaply on many other networks and led to a resurgence of popularity.

On my first thru hike of the AT in '14 I crossed paths with a NOBO named "catch me if you can" he was a South Korean tourist who chain smoked newports while pumping out 26 mile days regardless of the terrain. If you met him twice it was considered a big accomplishment.

IIRC the USA and the Koreas opted out, turning it into fluff, specifically because the UNSC (ha, halo ref) would not give us the exception for the landmined border between north and south korea.

Ebay has become an awesome cheap source for old console games, dvds, blu rays, and audiobooks on CD. No more messing around with what streaming service has what, and when itll randomly disappear. I just keep building the collection
