They don't have everything, but Good Hope Dumpling & Ramen House in Norwalk does excellent versions of a number of the classics like char siu buns and shumai. (not served dim sum style, though, this would just be for regular takeout) Noodles are pretty good too.

Maybe instead create a private cause of action? Let the owners of stolen catalytic converters file massive, ruinous lawsuits against companies buying them, with additional damages awardable to the local police department where the converter was stolen to compensate for their time dealing with / tracking down thieves.

Might be tough to track down the buyer, but if both you and the cops get a ton of money when you do, then everybody would be motivated to put in that effort.

(This could work for any stolen auto issue really - somewhere up the chain is a legitimate business and the owners of that business really don’t want to get hit with multi million dollar lawsuits for trafficking parts)

In all seriousness, CT has a part-time legislature and it's tough for a lot of them to find regular jobs that will accommodate their legislative + campaign schedules; raising salaries helps ensure that people who aren't independently wealthy can still serve in the CGA.

Also, $40k/year merely brings CT up to the same level as other state legislatures that make similar demands of their members, despite being way more expensive to live in than most of those states.

I mean yes kids shouldn't be eating random candy they find - for all sorts of reasons - but I worry this is going to feed into the whole rainbow fentanyl / police officer going into cardiac arrest because they were upwind 100 yards away from some drugs / etc craze.

Of the things kids in Connecticut need to be worried about, "getting run over by some idiot in a very tall pickup truck" ought to rate a lot higher than "accidentally eating drugs," and we ought to be doing more to discourage people from buying those and not spend too much energy getting all Helen Lovejoy about edibles.
