Lincoln Woods has really turned to shit. People just don’t care and litter everywhere. Makes me sick because it truly is a great place when it is clean and people respect it. All exactly on point. It is like that almost everywhere too. There needs to be a significant investment in A LOT more psychiatric triage and inpatient facilities if they want to be able to circumvent the ER. Only possible way to do it. It is needed on every angle imaginable too. Better for the overcrowding of ERs, better for the patients, as they are going to a facility and triage center that would ideally specialize in psychiatric disorders, and also ideally would at least hold them there where they can get treated by specialists instead of at hospitals. It’s all about the almighty dollar and how insurance does not pay well for behavioral health. That is why nobody wants to open up psychiatric facilitates. If they incentivized it that way, you better believe you would see more facilities.

You’re gonna read Sandwich Hut all over this thread, but, while it is good, the hype it gets will leave you disappointed. I’m not blown away by it by any stretch.

Of course not every at risk youth plays sports, but those that do are keeping up their grades, keeping out of trouble, being part of a team working towards a common goal together, learning discipline, and building elf-esteem and self-worth. If a lot of these kids didn’t have sports in place to provide that structure and motivation to want to stay on the team, they would probably struggle greatly. So, there is nothing that is an absolute for everyone, but sports do a great deal to help many. Why would we want to take that away from them? Not sure how having less options that are know to help kids is better for them.

Athletics are immensely beneficial for all youths, but even more so for at risk youths.

The cost of housing is absolutely absurd. Even a two income family getting paid what would have been considered a decent salary just 7-8 years ago can barely afford housing today. It is an absolute crisis.
