Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and Automatic Headlights are a bit different.
You are talking about DRL. Only front lights and often no as bright as normal Headlights.
Cars with actual automatic lights have a light sensor that will turn on all of the lights when light level below some level and in many cars will also turn on all of the lights when you active the windshield wipers.
You can usually tell from the instrument cluster. DRL does not light up the cluster but full light on will.

One thing to note is newer cars that either have LED or were offered with an LED option should have lamp failure warning on the dashboard and most likely will not blink faster.
Also make sure that you clean your lights especially as we head into winter with all of the road salt. If you have to use windshield wash your lights need cleaning.
Last point is if your headlights start to get cloudy you can easily clear up with car polish rubbing compound. The silly piece clear plastic can cost upward of $1000 so they are worth maintaining.

I remember this scene from high school.
Blonde girl looking right past the trumpet dork to shoot her friend the unmistakable look of "you better not fucking disappear with mr sweater and leave my with this douche bag".
Short hair girl eye fucking Mr sweater as a way to tell blonde girl that she is going to have to take one for the team.

If you want to see this in action shop for auto insurance. Give them your name and address and they will pull up every person in your address with a license and every vehicle.

The latest one is every check out asking if you want them to email you receipt.
The anti-spam laws have an exception when contacting people with whom the company has an existing business relationship.
You bought something from them so they are in the clear to spam the fuck out of you.

Reply to [LPT] Get a bottle of white lithium grease and shoot some inside door keyholes. This will lubricate the lock and eliminate the need for jiggling the key. Also prevents them from freezing and generally makes it smoother to use. by [deleted]
Would definitely NOT use white lithium grease as it is too thick and can cause the pins to get hung up.
Lubricating locks is good, but you need something lighter that won't attract dust. Generally best is Teflon, Graphite, or even silicone based Lubricants.

Gross weight. So technically they would not be lying if the truck and batteries weighed 80,000 lbs and the cargo was just empty boxes. For all we know a damn Kia Soul could have more cargo weight capacity.

Reply to LPT Keep the police non-emergency number in your phone contacts wherever you live/work. You never know when you might need it. by whitlockian
Depends on the place. Many towns contract out all call services to the county 911 center and no longer man a police desk 24/7. You can call police department during normal business hours but outside of that the number is going through the 911 call center anyway.

Never happen. Regardless of how efficient the plane the profits are based on how many seats that they can sell. The more people = more profit.
If they could get away with stuffing people in like a clown car they would.

Reply to comment by konqueror321 in eli5 what does an inverter invert? by [deleted]
Yes. The electronic inverter circuit is what is creating the AC output and this can be carefully controlled to give a clean and consistent output. High end online type uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems designed to protect sensitive computer equipment work in a similar way to take power from the wall outlet or its batteries to always make clean power.
The other advantage to inverter generators is that they can slow down the engine when less power is needed. This saves a lot of fuel and makes them less noisy most of the time. Normal AC generators need to always run a full speed to provide the proper output frequency.
