I have an appointment with them next week to discuss adding a ground mounted solar panel. They stopped by yesterday to check out the spot where it's going to be and it looks great

Do you mind sharing how much the panel + installation was and if it is a ground mount or roof? We are anxiously waiting for the estimate next week and have no idea what it will look like. I'm thinking it's going to be close to $30k but honestly don't know

I have a metal roof. I only have to remove about 3 feet from the edge. The sun hits it and keeps it clean

If I don't then ice will form. When I moved into my home I didn't realize this. I had 4 inches of thick ice hanging off the roof. It was about 6 feet long and curled under. I could not knock out off or even put a dent in it. When it came down it crushed my metal bulkhead. Ice went into the basement. Three grown men could jump up and down on the bulkhead and not even put a dent in it. The ice destroyed it. If a person was under that ice when it let go he would be dead

A lot of good advice here. I'll add that if you have a gas generator you should have an extra sparkplug and oil. If you foul a plug then your machine won't run right and it's nice to be able to change the oil if you think the stuff in there is old or breaking down

If you can find ethanol free gas then fill up the generator with that before you put it away.

Yup, I can turn my phone into a hotspot then run Netflix, etc on the TV.

I figured that out last night about an hour before power came back on. Wish I had thought of it earlier but now I know. First world problems in suppose

Try these guys. They are in York County. I think they brought a possum and other animals to my son's elementary school class. A snake, an owl, and maybe something else. I happened to be there that day. It was really cool. That was many years ago so I'm not sure what they are up to today

One thing that I learned about opossums that day is that they carry their newborns in a pouch for months. If you see a opossum that has been run over then it's possible to find babies on her even if she is not alive. The rescue place said they get a lot of those babies

Good luck!

Snow tires can go on any vehicle. They not required although they greatly increase traction and handling in the snow. If you plan to drive during a snowstorm (go to work, etc) then it's recommended to have them. Otherwise, you won't need them

Also, if you live near a main road then you might be ok since they are plowed regularly. If you live on a road that gets little traffic then good luck getting out during a storm. You'll have to wait until a plow truck goes by and hope they scrape enough to get decent traction. I live on one of those roads. I've pulled many vehicles out of the snow near my home with my 4WD truck.
