I still like to think that we don’t see Tony get whacked, because we “the viewers” got sacked first. Ok, sure the series never broke the fourth wall up to that point, so this theory definitely has holes, but that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.

Reply to comment by Capital-Bunch3769 in Was Bruce Willis in Die Hard the ushering in of the modern everyman action star? by SquatOnAPitbull
Fun fact: the first choice for john McClane was frank Sinatra as he played the character in the movie’s “prequel”
He was the first choice only due to contractual obligation. Sinatra was in The Detective and Die Hard is based on a novel that was the sequel to The Detective. At the time he was offered the role in Die Hard, Sinatra was 70 years old, and, as expected by the studio, he declined the role.
Others who were offer the role included:
Sylvester Stallone, Richard Gere, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Burt Reynolds, Nick Nolte, Mel Gibson, Don Johnson, Richard Dean Anderson, Paul Newman, James Caan, and Al Pacino.
When the role was finally offer to Bruce Willis, he had to decile due to contractual obligations to continue filming Moonlighting. That changed when Cybil Shepard s pregnancy cause Moonlighting to go on an 11 week hiatus. Willis was then able to film Die Hard during that hiatus.

Al Bundy would love a show about a character like Al Bundy - especially if that character’s wife had “Big Uns”

I sure didn’t mean to imply that at all. They are a passionate group, and their passion runs deep. If someone visits the sub for the first time, they could easily find themselves going down several rabbit holes that come about due to that passion.

Yes! But surprisingly in the last few days, there was a thread in r/rawdenim about Wrangler 13MWZ, which sell for under $30. That thread was (not sure if it still is) devoid of the typically denim-head rabbit-hole type comments (re #of washes, etc). Although, there was some complaining about the amount of branding on those jeans, so there were some denim-head perspectives shared in the thread.

The best Nazi death scene in Raiders wasn’t the melting face, it was the dude that took a propeller to the face while in a fist fight with Indy.
