I would read up on common craigslist housing scams. As another person mentioned, a super common one is to ask for a deposit before you can see the unit. Thats not something a legitimate listing would ask for. I also heard of one case where the scammer used a version of an email for a legitimate real estate agent and used their license number (which I think is public info) to try to scam people to think they are legit.

Lol what? The offending vehicle wasn’t speeding off like one of those dirt bike gangs, it was an asshole commuter that had to stop at the next light anyways. Cop could have easily drove like 30 seconds, flashed the lights and pulled the guy over. It was the lack of any effort whatsoever that annoyed me.

A few months ago I was nearly hit while I was crossing at a crosswalk, blowing past a stop sign too. A cop in his car was sitting literally 10 feet away from me. I gestured at him like “wtf” and all he did was flash his lights and then go back to whatever he was doing. DC cops are useless.

I took the metro from Dulles yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised how nice it was. Plus with the weekend fares, just $2 which is so much better than what it would have cost to get an uber in yesterdays rain.

I actually was recently talking to my veterinarian about this. Surprisingly, not many rats carry rabies, and if your dog get the full suite of vaccines (the leptospirosis shot is critical), your dog will likely be fine after killing a rat. Provided it’s not eating it or eviscerating it and getting blood everywhere. Dogs that are natural rodent killers like terriers, schnauzers, and dachshunds, they kill by shaking the rat, breaking its back, and then leaving it. So very low risk for disease, and I’d wager that those rodent hunting dog breeds have been bred to be more resilient against any disease that rodents might be carrying too.

Im sure theres a few in there which are true, but the vast majority are definitely fake and the kind of stuff people think of that makes them sound witty. From a recent post, claiming its overheard in a farmers market: "no ketamine or cocaine? what kind of farmers market is this?" I guarantee you that nobody said this. Nobody.
