Reply to Mad about book bans in school libraries? Philadelphia has a solution - no libraries at all! Only 7/217 schools have libraries for their kids. by youngbuck215
Also, the required texts for standardized texts [edit: standardized tests] are very expensive. It's like a high school version of the college textbook scam. So many schools also cannot prep the kids.

Yeah I was a big supporter of cabs, but they have really not gotten any better since ride shares came to town. Still don't show up, or dispatch says a cab is on the way when there isn't one, or drive the long way round to a destination, or have a 'broken meter' and quote steep prices, etc.
I get that ride shares don't pay well so I just give an extra cash tip to them. (Got to tip in the app as well as this adds to the driver's rep.)

They're very smart, they need an outlet for that. Also, can be good soccer players.

Yes!!! Used to take my kid there back in the day. We had a membership. I always kept the train room until last. It was impossible to get him to leave there.

I think it's confusing, but really no more so than many other large transit systems. I guess that doesn't really help you ...
I think SEPTA just did an evaluation of their wayfinding, the finding was that it was confusing.

Didn't realise that ... thanks for the correction :) I was vaguely wondering if people associating themselves with a candidate, rather than posting against other candidates, might make things a little more positive.

It's going to look more like Florida, not Amsterdam. It's not really not a good place to build. FEMA classifies it as a 'high risk' flood zone, I guess they may raise everything up? But good luck getting flood insurance, if you buy a place there.

You have some none Inquirer options. These can take a little work, but it sounds like you've been working anyway ...

You could try disputing the charge with Visa (or whoever).

You can file a complaint at the Better Business Bureau. That often gets the business's attention. BBB worked for me with a telecom company adding unnecessary charges to my bill.
Good luck!

Reply to Analysis | Are Philadelphia and Boston really the most neighborly cities in America? by PhillyAccount
No experience of Boston, but I think that Philly is very neighborly, and people are solid. Lived in other places (not Boston) that are seen as being 'nice,' you barely talk to other people.
