Reply to comment by 1945BestYear in TIL the public library in Aarhus, Denmark has a 25-ft 3-ton bronze bell named 'The Gong' that rings every time a baby is born in the city. It is connected to the maternity ward in the local hospital, where mothers can press a button after giving birth to ring The Gong by ergotpoisoning
There were only 180 babies born per day in all of Denmark in 2021. Your math would have 130 born per day in Aarhus alone.

Reply to Ancient Grammatical Puzzle That Has Baffled Scientists for 2,500 Years Solved by Cambridge University Student by Superb_Boss289
Just because it is 2500 years old doesn't mean it was being studied for that long. It's more likely that it spent 2450 years not really cared about and only recently did scientists care to study it to try and figure it out.

This is just the oldest tartan found. Sure they could be historically much older but they haven't any scraps of them...yet.
