Seriously, that would be such a nice reduction versus what I’m paying now.

And the thing is I don’t live in a super high-cost house, or even that well-off a neighborhood. I bought a house I could afford in a nice area with good schools for a family, and I’m paying a lot for it.

If incorporating my doughnut hole sized town into the doughnut we already share a school system with means lower taxes, let’s get merging.

Re Hasbrouck Heights, the situation with the train station was one of the main reasons I ended up not buying a home there.

At the time it was close to the rest of my family, I grew up there when I was younger, but I also needed to get into NYC and driving just wasn’t an option.

The fact that I couldn’t get to the train station, while not to only reason, pretty much sealed the deal and I looked elsewhere. It’s a shame because I generally liked the area.

I’m not too sure about stores near there, but there’s Play Hoboken that does a number of different kinds of games, might be worth checking out since it’s so local, but I moved before they opened so can’t speak from experience.

I’ve personally been to Digital Press Video Games in Springfield, which is a bit of a drive, but they seemed to have a good collection from when I was there. I have to imagine there’s someplace closer to Hudson County but that’s the one I know.

There’s also Yestercades in Westfield, which you could get to by train from JC, that has old arcade machines like Barcade but is much more kid-friendly, and they have a couple of stations with different consoles, both old and new. Might be worth a trip especially if you need to get them out of the house in the winter.
