Same with Gone Girl by the same author.
Great books, better shows

I honestly think at this point it’s less about having a movie “spoiled” and just more about people being control freaks.

Your audience can't see the flaws in the movie if they're blind.

I'm interested in seeing the answers to this one. I'm having a hard time thinking of any that aren't comedy.
I know Death Proof used some intentional "mistakes" to make it look like an older exploitation film

That’s a shame.
I loved it but I never read the manga so I didn’t have anything to compare it to

Since you count Squid Game in your post I would highly recommend Alice in Borderland.
People get teleported to an alternate reality where they’re forced to play games in order to survive. It does have an over-arching story and a mystery to solve. I liked it a lot more than Squid Game

Personally I feel like if something has been available to the public for two weeks it’s fair game.
I don’t intentionally spoil things if I know someone doesn’t want to know, but I think it’s a dick move to expect the rest of the world to cater to you if you’re just putting off watching something.
If something is so important that learning things about it will enrage you, then you have a responsibility to see it in a timely manner

I really enjoyed season 1 but I do feel like it was missing something. I don’t know if I could explain what it is but it felt a bit unsatisfying.
Everything else about it was fantastic though so I’m really looking forward to the second season

YOU’RE AN INANIMATE FUCKING OBJECT!
it’s fair if the movie isn’t for you, but In Bruges is pretty much the dictionary definition of dark comedy
The scene where Colin Farrell is about to kill himself is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen

I can’t attest to any less than legal means, but I use the app Just Watch all the time to figure out where to find stuff.
I’m not finding In Bruges free on anything

That’s exactly where I am.
It’s completely and utterly fine. I think there are a lot of legitimate criticisms that can be made, but people are deluding themselves if they think all the backlash doesn’t have ulterior motives

Only first season though.
It’s an anthology series and the first season is the only good one

The show can be bad, and a huge portion of the pushback can be racist. They can both exist at the same time.
You never see this kind of white hot vitriol toward worse shows like Brickleberry, Paradise PD, The Prince or any of the other myriad shitty adult animated shows.

It really is ridiculous.
It’s not a great show, I watched the first two episodes and it didn’t make me laugh at all, but people are just so over-the-top angry about it, it’s stupid.

I completely agree with you that it seems like a film made by people who hate Marilyn Monroe.
It was tough to watch but not because it’s a realistic portrait of the horrors this woman went through but because it’s an exploitative piece of shit that’s way too far up it’s own ass

I love Alice in Borderland.
I really enjoy Squid Game but personally like Alice more. I feel more emotionally connected to the characters and the games are more interesting and compelling. I also love how outright anime it is.
I haven’t watched season 2 yet, but I’m excited

I forgot about that one. It was pretty bad. I enjoyed that book but it was probably my least favorite. And the premise is so outlandish that it really only works as a book.
