Is that really the case though? I feel like humanity has collective guilt here, and the fact that people aren’t outright taking action, violent if need be, to steer things towards sustainability makes those of us not doing more guilty. Just being part of modern civilization is possibly enough. Saying it’s just a few people doesn’t accurately describe the problem.

No kidding. It’s a tragic loss for the country and the planet, but the poverty of the country only makes things worse. Exploitation of their natural resources is really the only thing left for a country like Honduras, and it’s come to this situation that can’t be fixed for generations if at all.

It’s an interesting what-if. Lenin probably would’ve been better than Stalin, although he still had plenty of blood on his hands. If his stroke didn’t happen, would he have expelled Stalin, or would Stalin just have come to power through other means?

Clearly you need to get the vellum editions.

What a tragedy. I can’t really think of anything to say that doesn’t come off as cheap when faced with this. The fact that this child’s life was cut so short, and the likelihood that it was a deliberate act by a person who should’ve been his protector makes it especially grim.

I know animals and people die all the time, but it’s still sad to hear about it. Reading about a specific death is always more emotional than any statistic.

They fought a war with the Isles of Scilly for more than 300 years. They’re a doggedly determined foe.
