Went out for what was predicted to be an amazing sunrise, only to find the clouds had moved in and completely covered the mountains. Stuck it out anyway and got a surprising pop of color just behind the infamous lone tree.

After a cold snap freezing all the moisture in air a thick layer of hoar frost covered the branches in the local woods near my house. I set off in the freezing cold to try and capture the beauty of it.

Like an 8, obviously the foreground was darker, but the sky was easily as vibrant, it was the most incredible thing I've ever seen and it really changed me
