As others have mentioned, you clearly stuck around to watch both seasons. It impacted you enough to write a post here. Something either negative or positive resonates with you to care enough. In that regard the writers were successful. You’re not supposed to love it.

I found it absurd and ironic, the people with means are exploiting and being exploited by people without means. There is dark humor in all of that.

Go to shows at local venues, talk and network with the bands. Go to open mic nights to see if you can sit in. You can intern at local studios to meet local musicians as well.

When I’m looking for a band I will post an ad on Craigslist. Just like a dating profile, be very specific about what you’re looking for. Finding a band that’s a good fit will take time and patience. Having keyboard skills is also a huge plus.

One last tip. Don’t take any shit from the egotistical guitar player who’s never made it and thinks they’re Jimi Hendrix. I never understood why, but many bands always keep the toxic asshole around and cycle through musicians. Move on quickly when you encounter that.

You know what’s strangling the market right now in life science, it’s not only the lack of homes, it’s the economy and lack of investment in startups. It’s going to be a rough 12-18 months while we slip into a recession.
