Another vote for Sniffspot. In the city there is a fenced area on Liberty between Baltimore and Fayette that is rarely used. There is a small fenced area in McHenry Row behind the baseball fields that isn’t busy. You can very often find Canton Dog Park empty.

The Polish Table on Eastern down by Home Depot should also have them and I imagine Sophie’s in Broadway Market will have them as well and her golabki is #chefskiss

If you are free between 4p-10p on Thursday (2/16) head over to the Polish National Alliance on Eastern. It’s their Fat Thursday sale. You’ll be able to pick up paczki, pierogi, golabki, kielbase, chrusciki, and beer.

I’m straight but I’m a transplant so I’ll give my 2 cents -

(i) I am not part of the LGBTQ+ community but I do have friends who are part of it. As someone else said Mt Vernon used to be the “gayborhood” but I don’t think it’s so centralized there anymore. Everywhere I go I see & meet new people, some who I’m sure are queer. Idk I don’t ask anyone their sexual orientation because I don’t care. I think most people here don’t care, as long as you’re not an asshole, you’re good!

(ii) The majority of my friends are people who moved here from elsewhere. Between the military, hospitals, and schools, there are people from everywhere. You won’t stick out and you’ll be accepted.

(iii) I think just like everywhere else it’s a little column A, a little column B. It was very hard for me to make friends when I first moved here because I am an introvert and have a lot of social anxiety. Through the years I’ve gotten more comfortable, now consider myself a local, and have gotten to meet a lot more people. I try to meet someone new every time I go out. I don’t need new friends but I do like to be friendly and make connections. It’s a small city and you never know who you’re going to see again.

(iv) you won’t be disappointed with the food

(v) xfinity has a monopoly in the city so that’s your provider unless you’re going to go with tmobile or Verizon 5g. I don’t usually have any problems.

I am biased, because I live here, but I also suggest Baltimore. When I lived in NJ I would visit frequently and since moving here I only love it more. There is so, so much more than the Inner Harbor. In fact, I wouldn’t suggest more than an afternoon at the Harbor. The aquarium is fantastic and the ships are cool to see but we also have incredible museums, Fort McHenry, Poe’s grave, the original Washington Monument, The Peabody Library, the first Roman Catholic Church in America (it’s just pretty, I’m not religious but they do still hold service if you are), beautiful parks, many historical buildings and amazing architecture, and really amazing food. I would be happy to give any suggestions.

Hamilton-Lauraville would check all these boxes but is very “suburban” city. If you want to be somewhere more walkable, you can find townhouses or row homes with small yards (and maybe even parking) in Canton, Patterson Park, Riverside, and Locust Point - all which are close to large parks that host many events, public pools, tot lots, and a large population of families with children.

I cant believe I'm not on it. Ive been DM'd on several platforms telling me what a terrible person I am, how full of shit I am, how full of hate I am, and if I were a real woman I would meet her face to face. Ok sure, Alice, I'd love to meet up with your psychotic ass. LMK which dark alley you prefer.

MEND acupuncture in Canton & Remington do both acupuncture and massage. If you have insurance they accept most. I’m not sure what the cost is without it but I’m sure they can give you that information if you call.
