I never measure anything, but I use:
either beef or beef mixed with pork, onions, sometimes green onions, ginger, garlic, all sauteed in sesame oil.
Then add: water, a little sake and soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, doubanjiang, tianmianjiang, tofu obviously, maybe some chili oil. Next time I'm going to try using Korean chili paste. You can add starch, too.

His father was apparently the guy who popularized mapo tofu in Japan. The Japanese version, mabodofu, is one of my favorite foods.

When I was in high school, I had a big poster of Robert Smith that I left on the piece of carboard it came with. My friend got behind it and added his own hand to the poster and said, "Beating myself is just like heaven."

Remember antivaxxers saying the vaccine was rushed, and some of them even suggesting Biden was getting money for it?
Well, Trump literally rushed the vaccine's approval, and Pfizer was a donor to Trump.
Republicans wanted to keep making money, so they didn't want to shut down, and so they convinced their base that Covid wasn't serious. But when the vaccine was developed that could help get thing back to normal, said base had by that point decided any precaution against Covid was bad.

I would say anyone trying to get to the hospital for an emergency was more than slightly inconvenienced.
But it has nothing to do with me being inconvenienced. If a group is known for being assholes, I might think twice before listening to their views.

Imagine a middle-class individual being fined $350,000. Now imagine a large corporation or a billionaire being fined the same amount. They found the sweet spot to punish normal people while letting the rich off the hook.

I can't help but picture a raccoon trying to work the taps on a sink.

That why this was news. Because only the exact same thing as other countries happened.

Maybe someone a thousand years from now will look at one of the old textbooks you had under the paper, find the impression of your signature, and write a news article about you.

Apparently the author never once read a mystery novel.
Maybe Eadburg was a celebrity, using the manuscript as a support while signing autographs.

>they keep voting for lunatics through the primaries and then into office
This is the core of the problem.
This is why I get so irritated when the only response people have to Jan 6th is "But, BLM looting!"
They never own up to what voting for Donald Trump lead to. Instead they make the false assertion that Democrats support violent protests.
I stand by my assertion that the average Republican doesn't like this. The problem is they keep voting Republican even when party has been taken over by lunatics.
To be fair, the party was already a terrible choice to begin with. There's a reason why Trump was appealing to Republican voters.

Agreed. The average Republican is appalled by this event. But the message of people like Trump speaks straight to unstable people like this, or the goons that wanted to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer, or—how much time have you got, it's a long list.
