I remember the absolute look of horror on his face when the theme ingredient was revealed. Both chefs are given a list of possible theme ingredients ahead of the battle so they're not completely unprepared, but I bet Chen thought it was a joke...

Masahiko Kobe, Iron Chef Italian. He was a later addition. Among the reasons why he doesn't rise with the rest is that the number 4 is considered unlucky in Japan, so they didn't want to show four chefs rising together.

Are you drinking Everclear straight? Got your liver transplant lined up already?
The thing about the azeotrope mixture at 95% ABV is that at that point alcohol and water have exactly the same vapor point. You could distill that stuff 100 times and not get any higher alcohol concentration. There are various tricks that are used to push past this barrier, but they either require exotic equipment (vacuum swing distillation) or can leave undesired residues (benzene addition)

Has anyone noted that all of NASA's fatal accidents launched in January? Maybe they should take the month off...

What you describe is basically an electric tankless water heater. Here are some specs from one manufacturer. The beefiest one they've got requires a 150A electrical connection and it still only raises the input water temperature by 98F; assuming that the incoming cold water is about 55F that gets you up to 153F... which might steep a cup of tea but is still well shy of boiling.

Wellfleet resident here. Nice place :) The Outer Cape towns (Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro) are quieter than the rest of the cape. We have nice beaches on both the bay and ocean sides. We actually have a small downtown with (mostly seasonal) shops, galleries, and restaurants. One of our claims to fame is being the site where Marconi did his first experiments in transatlantic radio.
The "seasonal" part is important; the outer cape is hopping in the summertime with visitors and summer residents, but is much quieter in the winter. Not as quiet as before, though; during the pandemic a large number of people moved to their summer places year-round and the year-round population is a bit higher than it used to be...

I just went through the same thing, and I too was being sent halfway across the state. Keep trying; the third time I checked I was able to find a slot at the closest MassHire office to me. Alternately, find the number of the closest office and ring them up. There were empty seats at the meeting I went to so they can probably squeeze you in. They're actually really friendly once you get there.
