We attempted to do that a couple weeks ago, and after we submitted and paid, they still sent us camera cards and mentioned we had to go in person. It has been a while since I have had my picture taken for an ID. im guessing they want a more current photo.

It also says you need three documents. Proof of ID, social security card, and proof of address. Wasn't sure if I needed to bring all this if I was renewing.

I got you no worries. I honestly was just looking on the website and found everything very confusing. They use terms like over the counter and in the mail.
