Reply to I make 42k and I work from home 4 out of 5 days a week. I signed a 60k offer onsite 23 miles there and back 45 min, 45 min back. Does this make any sense? by RemarkableCell1859
45 minutes isn't so bad imho. It depends on the person though. I like to have that time to think and adjust my mental state into or out of work mode.

Reply to Is there any possible relation between the recent earthquakes in Turkey/Syria, Japan and Papua New Guinea? by Corvid-21
The relation is that they are all on Earth. Tectonic plates moving causes pressure to build somewhere else and when that snaps (quake) pressure builds somewhere else. Large quakes have aftershocks as well that last for years.
For Japan quakes above 5 or 6 are very common several times a year, their infrastructure is built for it though.

Like I said the point is to be able to spread the population so we aren't living like roaches behind a fridge. It's not about economic growth, it's an investment in society, not economy.

The point is to be able to disperse the population without the inconvenience of living in buttfuck nowhere. To be able to commute from North Dakota to Seattle In more comfort than an airplane while being able to get work done

We could afford it even with those 20 years. There is nothing stopping the US from investing in bullet trains except for old money train tycoons too scared to step into the modern age.

Hold on now, I know a whole family of regular ass citizen chucklefucks who were caught with boxes full of classified documents, who knows who they sold those to. And they aren't getting charged with anything. Doesn't seem fair.

That America as a whole hasn't invested in creating a high speed rail system for the whole country for the last 50+ years is ridiculous.

So those sentences actually don't mean the same thing technically. The image they portray to a native speaker is different.
To simplify it. A big brown brick wall is exactly as it sounds a large wall of bricks that is brown.
A brown brick big wall is a wall made of brown bricks and it's big.
A brick big brown wall is a brown wall that seems to be as big a single brick.

And you can have floods and still be in a drought. Too much water at the wrong place does nothing to fill lakes and resevoirs.

It was covid measures. Usually students sit in a group. During covid everyone had to face forward while eating and try not to speak while eating. Of course not everywhere kept this up for 3 years, but now it's official that schools can let kids enjoy lunch time again.
