They're doing this to lock down repairs in totality. No more third-party screens being disabled in software when you can only get them (for a premium, of course) from Apple.

Remington. I've also heard good things about Wahl, but I have owned Remington ones for 9 years and they are still going strong. I was just thinking how much money they woulda saved me in that time lol- well worth the $30.

That's a good point- the glass is always hard to keep clean.
