You're not crazy.
The villain is indeed her, Nolte plays a mix of Phil Tippett and David Allen.

"Oprah Shot."
And not really. Why let someone else tell an incomplete story and erase the reality?

They were clearly in it to prove it was real. Hence the overarching narrative about the man on the horse.

Nope was a heck of a tribute to moviemaking, and I thought it was at least a huge recovery from Us.
Like, how can you even feel a movie that drops more or less back to back to back to back homages to Jaws, The Last Temptation of Christ, Akira, and early film technology--and makes them all work has no substance?

Not only that, but it helps tell the story of young Quill and Yondu perfectly. Between Fairytale, which I've sung every year since 2014 -- and The Old 97s, of which I used as a basis for a reception setlist, gotta say I'm really happy with the way the music turned out here.
And even moreso that Gunn did a ton better acknowledging how normal people would react to a spaceship post-Thanos than Taika did.

Thanks for the details which I missed on delivering! I only noted Allen as part of the whole mix, as he was a fellow stop motion guy who pretty much retreated to direct to video stuff right after Twilight Zone.
