Seconding the mortar warning, do not cheap out on repointing! One of our neighbors had a random handyman do some repointing, and it not only looked like crap, it leaked worse than before.

We bought a new sofa last year from Sofas etc. and they had someone from the delivery company come out and measure the doorways themselves and guarantee it would fit before we ordered. IIRC we had to pay a small fee but it could be applied to any of their furniture-- definitely worth the peace of mind.

I've had a few antique prints framed at Fleckenstein Gallery on Keswick. They did very nice work, though it was not cheap.

Reply to Baltimore rowhome insulation by ballzdeep499
How old is your house, and do you still have any knob and tube wiring? Be aware that it is a fire hazard to have insulation touching knob and tube. We still had knob and tube up there, so that had to be replaced before we could have insulation blown in. It did make a noticeable difference in winter.

Those baguettes at the wine source are the best I've found in the city. The sourdough is very good as well.

Agree, I was excited to have them in the neighborhood and joined their bread share to support them getting started, but the bread just wasn't very good :/ Everything was so flat it was mostly crust, and gummy in the middle.

The "other hardscape improvements" don't sound like green space and I guarantee it won't be open to the public.

Yes, Orient Express is great--it used to have only American style Chinese food but they changed up the menu a few years ago and they also have Sichuan dishes now. It's the same owner as Red Pepper in Towson. Not sure the ambiance is what OP is looking for though.

I used to go there fairly regularly with vegan friends, but it seemed like it deteriorated over time. Last visit (pre pandemic) the service was bad and the coffee was execrable. Has it gotten better?

Water is billed in units of CCF, not gallons. If your usage is pretty stable, it's normal to come out the same most months.

Reply to Seeking Advice For Working As an Employee at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health by DarkCaprious
I've made some use of tuition remission as BSPH staff in the epi department. For summer institute classes, it's very straightforward. If you want to take regular term classes, there is a "special student limited" status you can apply for to take up to 16 credits as a non degree seeking student. I did have to email the professor and get permission to enroll in their class.
