Did you... read the article?

>The study found 79 per cent of pedestrian injuries occurred in winter, and 69 per cent of those affected were women. Clearing paths first halved accidents and saved the local government money, reported FSG.

And yes, we're pretty big on NOT using cars over here.

I'm a software developer (hence, a pretty high amount of taxes) who rides his bike to work. Other colleagues walk. Now, based on your assumptions and the fact that the article takes place in Europe, I'm going to assume you must be american.

While I understand politicians need advisors, I feel that ultimately the full responsibility for the proposed law falls entirely on them (and should be written by them). Blatant cases such as allowing a lobbyist to "do your homework" should result in immediate dismissal and barring from any political position.

Edit: and punitive actions. I don't know about prison, but certainly life destroying financial penalties that would absolutely obliterate any wealth gained up to that point and force them into living like a regular citizen.

I was doubtful in the first few minutes, but we told ourselves "it's got Ferrell and Reynolds in it. Let's trust them". And that was the right thing to do. We enjoyed it quite a bit.

It does pay lip service to those criticising the vapid social media culture as well as the PR industry, and it does so somewhat superficially. But overall it's a really enjoyable movie.

Would I rewatch it? I don't think so. But I'll reevaluate in a couple of years.

This whole clusterfuck makes me quite optimistic. If the thousands of deaths weren't enough (sadly), maybe a sponsor that willingly got in bed with a corrupt organisation and a murderous regime will take offense for losing the sponsorship money, losing out on the sales they were promised, AND wasting the beer.

The schadenfreude is so thick on this one.
