The Cranston DMV license plate office had an LSD plate hanging on the wall when I picked mine up 4 years ago lol

I’m always open to changing my mind about pretty much anything and I was thanking them for something that changed my mind. Wasn’t trying to be an asshole but I see how I came off that way when I made that slightly trollish comment while half awake last night.

Thank you for the reasoned response instead of “wow look at this internet tough guy.” I guess I was speaking from a point of privilege here from the kind of school district I grew up in. That’s pretty sad :(

I was gonna argue with you but seeing as this morning is deceptively warm compared to what it’s going to be like when they’d get out of school, I can see kids not dressing for –10 windchills when they leave for class this morning

Lol they’d be fine. My hometown in Minnesota is going to be –19° at 6am today (Friday) and they’ve got school. I just looked and it needs to be less than –25° at 6am before they close school.

Grew up in Minnesota and had less than one snow day a year. A foot of snow? No problem, the snow plowing operations are world class and all the streets will be cleared. –20° windchill? Better layer up because that accounts for a quarter of the days in January! It took full a full whiteout blizzard or colder than –50° windchill during school hours for school to be canceled. Kids these days smh lol
Edit I was half asleep when I wrote this and it’s only a half serious comment so everyone can just calm down, and also I thought this was for all of RI, not just Providence so this is fair

The one and only case I can think of where I’ve been thankful for 5G is a few times at the airport remembering that I want to download some Netflix episodes right before boarding.

Seriously, I have survivors guilt over here with my $1400 mortgage for a two story house and a huuuuuuge backyard in a quiet neighborhood. I can never sell my house.

I’m curious if anyone has any ideas. I’ve had no issues myself. In fact, my October (November bill) usage was over 40% less than last years at only 132 kWh and my gas was barely over the summer baseline. Small 2Br 1 Bath 1100sqft house. Your usage is about what I was using in the summer with at least one window AC on almost all the time.

Reply to Good dentists? by pejdne
Politelli Family Dental in Warwick is great! I never had needed a dentist for anything but cleanings, but when I cracked a tooth earlier this year, I called my previous (very highly rated on Google) dentist who said the soonest appointment to be seen was ten days out, and then they’d have to schedule another appointment after that to actually have it fixed. Way too long IMO, but Politelli got me in same-day and then got it fixed just two days later. I’ve had nothing but a great experience with them since then, and they seem to have plenty availability.

I mean, you can’t have it both ways, but I think most people would prefer to not have it be dark by the end of the work day. Having 5-6 hours of darkness before bedtime also feels disorienting.

I don’t think it’s just a one time fee though. I got one 4 years ago without reading the fine print and a few months later my registration renewal came due and it was something like $100 more just because I had vanity plates. Changed them back to the normal plates so I didn’t have to pay the increased renewal fee.
