Peacemaker was my favorite unexpected show.
Rings of Power, For all Mankind, Kenobi, all had some of my favorite moments
Andy Serkis in Andor was incredible for me, a complete surprise.

Arcane deserves a bit of honorable mention.
And I agree with Rings and Kenobi, despite the Reddit hate for both.
For All Mankind I think is one that’s underrated here

That seems pretty controversial considering the love/hate with the different hosts. But I agree with you overall.

I mean. A lot of shows seem to be adapting to the “screen distraction” stuff lately. Either they give you some leeway with it, or don’t. It’s not him telling anyone they “need” to do it, but just addressing BCS as a show you have to pick up on details and non vocal cues.

Idk why this guy is pretty upset with you. I’ve noticed a lot of shows lately are either embracing or rebelling on this issue overall.
Either you can sit and watch a show while not missing much by glancing at your phone, or you can glance at your phone then look up and go “wait what the fuck happened” after missing a minute.

Yup. Especially good writing when it’s dramatic and can balance humor in key moments with cast that know they’re doing something special.
The West Wing is another that comes to mind that hits the right notes well.

I will say, the one glorious thing about surround on modern broadcasts is sports. The majority of the time you can just kill that center speaker to mute the commentators and just listen to the game live is great.

The powerhouse they had at Thursday night I believe with Smallville leading into Supernatural made them a ton of money. It’s not surprising they would milk it even after the creators were out of story.
