When our jobs as engineers are automated, all jobs will. There will be bigger problems and change to worry about than yourself.

In 10 years, a lot more jobs than artists will be automated through AI. This problem will have to be addressed at a broad scale. Some of the most profitable professions right now could be automated — such as engineers and surgeons not to mention the lower paying jobs already in their way out like factory workers and customer service.

People will still create when there is no financial reward — although much less. There still will be plenty of data to train on.

It will certainly limit the creative expression of the human race, but the profit machines that drive this innovation don't care about that. Human expression doesn't drive revenue.

Individuality and abstract thinking created every single piece of technology we have. Abstract thinking's brought fire out of the wildness into a home for heat. Individuality brought electricity.

Capitalism? Capitalism brought mass genocide, religion, famine, and slave labor. All capitalism has done is exploit advancement for money. Do you realize how much further along we'd be if the $2 trillion dollars every year we spend on bombing each other was put towards fusion energy or ai?

We weren't meant to work, eat, sleep and die. We were meant to get stronger, learn, fuck and pass to those traits on so humanity can evolve.

Not only is it getting worse but so are standards. Imagine how many incompetent engineers are out there.

On top of that because demand is so high there is essentially zero benefit to working hard and bettering yourself. They do not reward hardwork in tech at all, they just promote you instead. That's how they can justify it to their investors. I want to be paid more for what I do, not take on more responsibilities.

When we reach singularity, of course it will happen. That's a long ways off. You'd have to be able to think through decades of data that hasn't been collected yet.

Ya graphic design is art. It's traditional role will probably be mostly automated.

It may replace art (although that would be sad, it's part of the human culture) — but it will never replace designers.

That is the future. If I was wealthy right now I would buy up a large restaurant in a nice area. Keep one kitchen and split it into 3 micro restaurants and rent the space out to three small businesses. 3 counters - no seating possibly a drive thru.

I am in tech/marketing design. I would offer all my services in exchange for profit percentage to get them all set up with a good brand, marketing and online ordering.

People want quick delivery/pickup, less interaction with affordable prices.
