My only complaint with the Hunger Games, and YA tropes of this type in general, is that it pushes the extremely common literary idea that City Folk Bad Country Folk Good. This propaganda is detrimental to real life, where, having lived in both areas, I find most of the horrible racist homophobic bigots I know are country folk (Trump Country) and most city folks I know are progressive and caring and expanding Medicaid etc.

Just donate it to goodwill. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. You may not like it but clearly some publisher/editor thought it print worthy and perhaps others feel the same? Or just throw it out but do you think promoting his name and title in Bold on social media is the right way to go if you really wanted to get rid of it? Sounds more like virtue signaling to me.

I second thing. Do not blow money on nice kitchenware things for your first apartment while you’re in school. They will just break and then even if they don’t they have to be carted around to your next place. Go to Good Will and buy mix and match kitchen stuff. Recycling at its finest.

Yes, when we had a rocky time in our marriage our therapist made us play a game where we had to write down what it was like when we first met (couldn’t go back physically bc it was very far), where we were, what attracted us to them etc. It really did help us reconnect and focus on what we originally liked about each other. She said it helps a lot to clear the mind of all the petty things that built up in a marriage over time and reset the brain to remember why/what you liked about this person in the first place.
