In the original commic, the whiffle hen would magically enchant anyone who scratched it on the head; most people got supernatural luck, while Popeye got super-strength.

In fact, in the story in which he debuted, Castor Oyl hired him to bring the group to an island casino to swindle the place using Castor's boosted luck. Popeye used his strength to beat the shit out of some thugs who chased them back to get their boss' money back; it also saved Popeye's life since the boost also let him survive being shot six times.

Interestingly, Popeye debuted ten years into the comic's storyline - it was originally called Thimble Theatre and Olive Oyl was the main character; but she later dumped her fiancé Ham Gravy to date Popeye.

Also, the whiffle hen's magic ended up permanently imbuing into Popeye, making him superhuman. The spinach thing was added later because he needed it as a psychomatic crutch to get his strength back.

No, they audience didn't know. In fact, when he was recognised on the show, he was disqualified for having lied about not having a prior criminal conviction (and just for the bad press of having a defrocked priest who fucked up two major sporting events for his protests - they were afraid he'd do it again if he were allowed onto the live finals).

Oh, right. He entered the show and performed a jig for the audience, which led him to qualify for the next round.

But when his episde aired, he got recognised and named in the press due to his prior stunt, it was revealed that he lied to the producers about having prior convictions which led to his being kicked off the competition.

Also, one of my favourite tropes is "Dumbass Has A Point" where a normally-stupid character makes a logical or convincing argument to the astonishment of his smarter friends.

A prime example of this is the Breaking Bad episode where the police get a laptop that would prove their guilt, with Walter and Mike debating on how to handle it, debating about whether to skip town or attack the police station with a bomb. Whose plan do they go with? Jessie's, who points out that they can fry the computer with an electromagnet.

Also, in the Golden Girls, Rose is the resident ditz of the household and is frequently played off as a moron since she didn't graduate high school. However, she turns out to have read the scientific journal used by professional psychologists to diagnose mental disorders back-to-back and can accurately diagnose mental disorders (calling someone out for being detached from reality and calling Blanche a hypersexual bitch, but the last one was an insult) and when Dorothy has a gambling problem, manipulates her int feeling guilty as a means of treating the problem.

Edit: Also, look at Danganronpa. When trying to figure out who the killer is and at an impasse, the dumber characters spouting shit off randomly will often be correct.

For example, Akane in the second game is frustrated when they realise there's no way for them to figure out how the killer could've moved around during a blackout without any kind of hints or clues, so she frustratingly shouted out, "What if the killer >!used a light?!!<.

To her surprise, main character Hajime outright confirms that yes, this is indeed what the killer did. >!The killer was never in the room in the first place and by using a smaller light, was able to sneak around outside the room the murder took place in.!<

Also, Yasuhiro in the first game, who is so utterly stupid that he was held back in school multiple times (I think it's mentioned he's two-to-three years older than the others who are all part of the same class in high school) and his stupidity is repeatedly highlighted. But he also points out one of the biggest flaws in the third case, which he's the main suspect in and needs to prove his innocence.

He rightfully points out that the killer was attacking everyone outside of the presumed order by citing the fact that the murder weapons were taken from a fictitious fighting robot anime, which required attacking people in turn with an escalating sequence of hammers (Justice Hammer 1, Justice Hammer 2, etc.) Yasuhiro points out that the killer could've just attacked with the hammers out of order, citing the fact that they already found the third hammer; the killer would've had to have stolen it from the other survivors, attacked someone with it then put it back where they found it, which was too risky.

I mean, I've heard some of Enya's music throughout the years but never knew the artist, then really dived into it when I learned her name from the Lord Of The Rings song she sung, "May It Be". And Enigma? I only heard of that band through Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Araki has a killer taste in music). So, no shame.

Edit: Look up Sadeness/The Principles of Lust.

That... wasn't Enya. It was Enigma.

To be fair, I've seen some compilation albums which have both their songs included due to being mellow and focused on tranquility and meditation.

You're not wrong. Per the Wikipedia article for A Day Without Rain, the album the song was lead single for;

> Following the 11 September 2001 attacks, sales of the album and its lead single, "Only Time", skyrocketed after it was used by several radio and television networks in their coverage and aftermath of the attacks.

And that was just from the article header. It's got an entire section about the 9/11 bump;

> Following the 11 September 2001 attacks, "Only Time" was used in radio and television coverage of the disaster, which led to increased sales and radio airplay of the single and A Day Without Rain, to the point of both records surpassing their initial peak on the US charts. CNN and ABC News, among other networks, played the song with "Fallen Embers" as backdrops of footage of the victims. Its position on the Billboard 200 climbed from No. 20 prior to the attacks to its all-time peak of No. 2, driven by the increased audience exposure of "Only Time". In the same month, "Only Time" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart after it already spent 33 weeks on the chart, breaking a seven-year-old record for the longest climb to the top position in the chart's history. In November 2001, the single climbed to its peak of No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it Enya's highest-charting single in the US. From October 2001 to January 2002, over 3 million RIAA-certified units of A Day Without Rain were sold in the US alone, which included a peak of one million copies sold in 19 days.

> "Only Time" gained further exposure following its use as a sound bed for promos of the comedy series Friends on the first five episodes of the eighth season. Following the media response and increased sales of Enya's records, "Only Time" was reissued as a maxi-CD on 20 November 2001 containing the S.A.F remix and original version, with earnings from its sales donated to the Uniform Firefighters Association's Widows' and Children's Fund in aid of families of fire fighters involved in the attack rescue operations.

Enya has made some pretty emotional music, both as a solo artist and when she was a member of the band Clannad, to which she was backing vocals and keyboardist - first band to get into the UK Top 40 with a song in Gaelic. In fact, the other members of the band were her siblings and uncles.

I may have a reason, but it's just speculation... but Orlando Brown may be the issue.

He was the voice actor for Fillmore on the show, as well as Eddie on That's So Raven and Sticky in The Proud Family. But he managed to completely tank any and all goodwill with Disney for a slew of legal issues including meth addiction and dealing shortly after he left Disney, plus repeatedly fleeing the law when he was scheduled to go to court over past offences.

I think they're still trying to keep Brown as far away from their image as humanly possible.

Capone was let out of prison early on a combination of mercy due to his illness destroying his mind and for being a model in-mate, even being a member of the prison's band. He actually wrote a love song in prison.

Honestly, a large building with an enclosed ecosystem is something I would love to get a chance to see.

I've been working on a CSI fanfic which had this as part of the premise, where the victim turned out to work inside one of these and the CSIs end up butting heads with the corporate heads running the building over the case, but eventually manage to get enough leeway to force the issue of disclosing who the victim was, and find that the building houses an enclosed rainforest in the middle of the Nevada desert designed to test out housing for colonists on other planets.

Then they discover that >!there are dinosaurs within the building, at which point it's made clear just why Dennis Nedry was murdered...!<

I decided to look it up, just out of curiosity, but apparently the Volkshalle would've been so large that there would've been an atmosphere inside the building.

What I mean is, the dome would've been so large that condensation would've resulted in precipitation and extreme humidity.
