Whatever you get, make sure you check about whether the brand has fiberglass in the mattress (I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of the brands you mentioned in the reports). There have been numerous reports lately of tiny fiberglass shards escaping from mattresses. This (of course) puts people in danger and often requires evacuating the home. Search /r/Mattress for fiberglass for a start on your research.

Search Youtube for America's Test Kitchen's video about ceramic cookware. They tested a bunch and found it performed worse and degraded faster than Teflon.

I think you got typoed. I take that to mean serviceability, things that can be repaired. And I disagree. Serviceability should not be considered to be a separate thing from BIFL. It's an essential part of BIFL in most cases. There are some things that will probably never need to be fixed and probably couldn't be in any practical way (cast iron pans come to mind), but in most cases (things like appliances, shoes, bicycles) the ability to repair is what makes something BIFL.

I've seen these posted in here before and I finally decided to order one after seeing /u/gravybutt's post a few days ago.
I actually got three straps and one buckle. Wore it for a few hours today and so far I am pleased with the quality.

Not sure if you consider them the same style, but Bean boots are still resoleable for cheap.
Just be careful that you actually get the made in USA "Bean Boots". I made the mistake of getting the similar looking but imported Storm Chaser boots and they cannot be resoled.
