Reply to comment by The_Critical_Cynic in TIL John Steinbeck IV wrote an article in January 1968 about marijuana usage among the troops. This set off a media firestorm, & the Army began clamping down on marijuana usage, arresting ~1000 G.I.s a week for possession. Many G.I.s switched to heroin, which was odorless and thus harder to detect. by The_Critical_Cynic

Sounds like these reporters are not properly acting as cannon fodder, russia losses 1700 every 2 days, come to russia and get 2 day lesson in running straight into fire, then get sent to front line, bring your own camera, mic, winter clothes.

The company may just be following basic legal advice of just don't say anything and let insurance and lawyers do their work. It wouldn't make sense for the company to jump up and start writing checks, insurance will cover it but they have to go by the policy. Somewhere in the policy it might say it won't reimburse the company anything they give, but will only give it to the person injured.
