At 26 seconds you can hear the Engine sounding the Mayday evacuation alert. They do it in case the radios are down or can't be heard. You can't not hear the Engine airhorn. It means all firefighters, inside and out, return to your apparatus or staging area immediately and report to your officer. The Incident Commander and RIT officer will do a head count against the tag system. If anyone is missing the Rapid Intervention Team goes to work. They are specially trained firefighters who stand by at structure fires specifically to recover down firefighters not to fight the fire.

I can't wait to read the after incident details. It's got to be one hell of a story.

Yes. But our rail lines are maintained better. The state has better and stricter regulations. And all New Jersey firefighters are required to complete the first two levels of Hazmat training in order to graduate the fire academy.

Could what happened in Ohio happened here? Sure. But we are much better prepared to handle it. We had incidents like Ohio decades ago. We learned our lessons.

Here is the incident when it happened in Paulsboro in 2012.

If it comes down to a choice between idiotic bigots and our wonderful neighbors who brought us bagels I know exactly which side I'm happy to stand on.

They'll pull that pumpernickel bagel with butter from my cold dead hands. Happy Hanukkah my friend.

This is an issue I want to hear out of the mouth of every elected official in this state.

I'm able to live comfortably but I had to struggle really hard to get where I am. WAY more than I should have had to. And I worry so much for young people just starting out.

After living my entire life in NJ I don't want to see my own children get chased out due to cost of living. Medical bills are absolutely part of that. Perhaps one of the biggest parts if a person is unfortunate. We need to do better. Our young people deserve better.

I loath Senator Menendez as much as any other rational adult.

But we're going to need a better source than a reporter from Semafor. The organization was created by Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith formerly of Buzzfeed.

By all means heap scorn and derision on old Bobby. But I'd prefer a more reputable source for this type of news.

EDIT. You are not the first to comment additional sources. His own office made a public statement hours ago. Read the rest of the thread.
