It’s been over 5 years since I’ve been to a Chilis. I still remember the exact scenario. I’d become disenchanted by their low quality food, and the meal I had just eaten was so bad, and at such a price that I looked at my friend and we both agreed that Chilis was no longer for us.

Why would he have used Latin script to change biology. Why not use Arabic script?

We are on uplifting news, so even if it wasn’t strictly a “thanks” we can infer from the context they weren’t being dicks

Reminds me of the late Roman Empire.
Romans: Hey Germanic barbarians, if you join our military and defend us for a few decades, you and your families will receive citizenship and land to settle in!
Also the Romans after the Germans defend them for years: Soooooooooo about that whole land and citizenship thing…… How about we don’t do that, sorry guys….
The Germans: Bro we control the majority of your military. We are just going to take half your empire you little shits.

If he was the father of your dad’s grandfather, he was your dad’s great-grandfather. That means he was your great-great-grandfather.

Everyone getting mad that this soy sauce being older than the US could somehow be interpreted as if it reflected poorly on the country, when really it’s just a notable point in time to mark how old this sauce is. They are using you as a reference for how impressively old the soy sauce is, Americans, not making fun of your country for being established more recently than some other countries.

They basically still don’t. People were pissed earlier this year when they bought the rights to air Summertime Rendering, but decided to put the entire season up after it finished airing in Japan, rather than week to week as anime is traditionally broadcast.

It used to be relatively more common 10 years ago or so. Usually Sprite with cough syrup. Also called purple dr(i/a)nk. Within the last decade or so they made it less available by making it so you need to be over 18 to legally buy codeine cough syrup, but it of course still exists.

It probably won’t due much good mentioning, but her father was a King prior to Revolutions of 1848. So he was a “liberal progressive” not really in any sense that you would recognize it today, but in the sense that he thought absolute monarchs should show some considerations for their subjects as an enlightened despot. He even backtracked some of his positions after revolutionaries forces him to alter his government in 1848. Calling him a capitalist also doesn’t really make any sense, otherwise all of monarchical history and mercantilism is actually “capitalism” if you define it merely by keeping wealth of the state and family within the monarchs direct control.

Tell me you haven’t been on reddit for very long without telling me. If you didn’t know, Reddit often pulls the first image from a page for the thumbnail. So if I were a betting man, I would have to guess the article isn’t specifically about Al Pacino.
