Emery Farm when it’s a bit warmer. They have yummy food (including very good cider donuts), and some farmy play equipment outside. They also have goats, rabbits, and chickens to look at.

Not sure your situation, but if you are itching to buy, consider renting first if possible (though rentals are tight too). That way you can learn the area and figure out where you want to live long. I realize this may be hard given the market, but worth considering.

The problem with statements like this is that they ignore the interdependence we all share. No big city is self-sufficient in energy, food, water, or building materials.

Michigan is too far west to be in Eastern Time. New England is too far east. Move MI to Central Time, and New England to Atlantic Time, then stay on Standard Time all year. May need some other changes to zone boundaries as well.
