Its called the free market. Would you want a job where you have to jump through hoops and nonsense to get paid? Or would you settlle on another job doing the same work and making the same amount without all the bullshit?

I was able to get one towed by going on twitter of the NYPD and tagging the mayor and the local council person. You could see on google maps the has been there for at least 6 month with a boot on it!

Are you stupid? The property was inhabitable and someone broke in and stayed there. Its like someone who broke into your car, used it as an illegal taxi, run red lights and tolls and they fine you for it.

Home owner insurance would cover it. But you have to sue first

You have to rock the boat on twitter. Some asshat parked their van in front of a no standing zone and just left. I think it was stolen. Anyways, finally went on twitter and tagged the mayors office, the local nypd station, and the council person for that area. At least i finally got a response than just a closed out 311 complaint.

Do nypd boot or just the sheriff department? There was an abandoned van with boot in a no standing zone in a very very popular roadway. 311 didnt work so i finally had to publicly call the local police station out on Twitter with the mayors office and 1 police plaza tagged. They told me they couldnt get the boot off because it was the sheriff. So it took another week for them to come out and take the boot off. Then 2 more weeks of constant tweeting for them to finally tow the van. Its been there for more than 6 month. You could see the google streetview from april 2022 and the van has been there with a boot.

So i drive by the 69st station on the 7 line every morning. There was always a lot of hispanic day laborers there since its a major entrence to the highways and there is a huge hispanic church. Anyways, ive notice a lot of female day laborers and what looks to be families. Before it was mainly men. Wonder if those are the new migrants?

Pay 1st month rent. Then after 30 days, stop paying. Will submit complaints to DOB and HPD for made up living conditions. Dragging out the court case in order to get a larger cash for keys settlement. Rent out the apartment on airbnb or to other people and pocket the rent.

Would help if you actually list how much you are paying and for what size apartment and in what area. Not all rent stablized apartments are cheap. I lived in one that was 421b stablized meaning it can expire after a certain time. Apartment was built in 2005 with a base rent of 1600. Over the years, with the legal rental increases allows, plus renovation additions, the final legal rent in 2022 was around 2800 which is actually higher than what a similar free market apartment rents for in this area. Thats just an example that not all rent stablized apartments are low priced. Plus your unit might be a 421b and it expired.
