It completely makes sense. Outside of fraud or gross incompetence bank regulations should ensure banks remain solvent. Only when the economy is rocked dramatically will a bank fall and those factors will effect all the banks at the same time.

Reply to ELI5 : How come that the biggest tech company products, like Windows OS can be cracked and used for free while apps made by small companies have a strict paywall impossible to break? by [deleted]
Probably part of it is that the small company can make it have onerous security that is harder to hack. For windows to have onerous security will mean lots of computer downtime as people try to figure it out. That is more costly for Microsoft than the lost revenue of a few hacked systems. They are more interested in ensuring corporate clients are paying for windows.

Yes. In fact, they specifically want windows to be a easiest thing to install at home. If lots of people start using Linux or some other OS at home, a whole ecosystem of software for Linux will develop and more people/businesses will refuse to pay for windows. Not only do they not care if Johnny gamer uses windows for free, they really don’t want him switching to Linux.

I was going to say that it’s interesting that the top 10 studios only vary by a factor of 3. Kind of argues against the idea that there is excessive media consolidation. But Disney owns fox and marvel so really it’s only 8 and the difference is over a factor of 6 and number 2 is less than half of Disney. So really consolidation is massive.

But one might expect that people would want to listen to an excellent song. The fact that the winning song had about 1% of the listens of the next most popular song in the list and the most popular song had almost 2000x more listens suggests there might be a disconnect between the people voting and the general public. Especially on Spotify where everyone had access to every song. You don’t need to buy an album or listen to a certain station.

Reply to eli5 what is the point of therapy? by dumbass__stupid
Therapy is about self awareness. Many people get stuck in cycles of behavior and thought that are destructive and they don’t even realize what they are doing. Therapy is process of discussion and exploration that helps people become aware of how they think and why they behave the way they do. Once they are aware they can work on changing their thinking/behavior/habits in ways that support their goals, whatever those might be.
If you are going through a lot of therapists maybe you need to think about what you are hoping to accomplish. You decide the point of therapy.

At that distance it doesn’t make a difference if it’s a black hole or just a star 10x the mass of the sun or even two stars 5x the mass orbiting each other or even a constellation of 10 sun sized stars. It’s a neat quirk of astronomy but not really consequential for life on earth. Actually a large star at risk of supernova is possibly more likely to have an effect than a black hole.
