The speed of light does change depending on the medium it is passing through. For example, it is slower in water than through a vacuum and slower through glass than it is in water.
That, however, isn't relevant to the question being asked by OP.

Also add that, while you know the room is there and you can see the door to the room, the people keeping you out deny for half a century or more that the room even exists.

There are objective measures that can be looked at beyond one's subjective enjoyment to make an evaluation. For example, I like the movie Ultraviolet. But it's story incoherent, the CGI is horrible even for 2006, the acting is wooden, and by any standard of filmmaking it is a bad movie. Those aren't arbitrary measures. But for some reason I enjoy it as stupid mindless fun.
I don't need to justify my enjoyment of that movie by claiming it is "good" because it isn't. It is very possibe to distinguish between the overall merit of a game, movie, show, etc. and one's own subjective enjoyment of it.

Reply to comment by Sinsai33 in What is the point of spoiling the plot of a book in its preface?? by DontNotNotReadThis
That is really a very small spoiler given the scope of the entire trilogy.

There is a very simple rule for this. If the preface was not a part of the book in its original printing, skip it if you are reading the book for the first time.
If a preface was added in a later edition, whether or not the preface is actually written by the author, it isn't intended for first time readers.

That you asked this question at all makes me concerned about you ever setting foot near a kitchen. Why are you asking?

This just invites more questions. What could the cooked chicken possibly be infected with? And why would you ever let cooked chicken come in contact with raw chicken? You are definitely looking the wrong way about contamination.

Just because an author writes about a facist society it doesn't mean he is advocating for that ideology, even if it isn't clearly satirical or critical. You can't make that assumption. Nor is that assumption consistent with Heinlein's other works.

The idea of a John Wick game gives me nightmares of Enter the Matrix.
