He's said up to 20" inches this weekend. NOAA shows rain all day for the seacoast, ending with potential snow that looks like it will just melt on impact.

My snowblower got trashed. Some oil is leaking out. The starter cord ripped off but it has a plug in option thankfully. A shear pin... sheared. I'm guessing if I bring it in for repairs I won't see it until August though.

Might be different in the north, but it's hardly been cold in southern NH this year.

Portsmouth is HCA too. I had to use an ambulance for an urgent situation and had to argue with the driver that we'd refuse transport to Portsmouth ER (offsite in Dover) because they didn't have the services we needed.

Unlikely. It's only a couple inches and tends to be warmer there too.

This fares well for my desire to go xc ski at Gunstock or Wolfeboro again. I haven't tried Harris in ME either, but might be enough snow there too

Unfortunately except for a few people with ideal commutes, the train isn't al lthat great. I've taken it a few times, but it still costs more than driving if you aren't solo, and the first trip of the day is after 10am.

How in the 2023 do we not have a simple tracker on buses that can send location to a phone app.

It's getting worse though. I loved winters in NH when that meant snow that stuck around and lots of good skiing/sledding. Now it's mid-30s all season so nothing is frozen and most of the precipitation is rain/sleet.

Once you pickup, they know you are willing to answer a random call so you will get a lot more.
Either just never pickup unknown numbers, or next time you pick up and find it's a robot then just mash on the keys until it hangs up and there's a slight chance they will assume it's not a good number to call.

Ditto. Though it's awful trying to tell local places a 607 number because half the time they instinctively write 603.

Apparently just getting upsold. The couple of times I got new tires they try to add in alignment and the upgraded warranty.

We have a Walmart, which is the place I'm seeing $50 tires. Otherwise the national chain brand has them starting around $100.

And shoes really aren't priced based on their longevity. Lots of $100 shoes are wonderful, while probably most $1,000 shoes are just marketing junk.

Veering off topic here, but our local small airport only flies Allegiant and supposedly they are consistently ranked at the bottom for plane service issues. Maybe those haven't manifested into crashes, but I'd say the cheapest flights are a bit worrisome. It's similar to "doctors who got Ds" - they still passed but would you opt to pay less if you knew they were just barely acceptable?

The only recognizable name when I look at tires is Goodyear, and those had the lowest rated mileage unfortunately. The rest of the names might as well be AliExpress brands. Sailun, Yokohama, Falken, Nexen, Kelly. I've never heard of any of those.

The question then is, what price is reasonable vs luxury? I see tires for $50 - 300 a piece. I've generally bought the ~$100 tires, and never had an issue.

Serious question, what do you do with multiple gallons? I tend to go through a half gallon in a year, and that's with a bit of baking that uses a lot more than occasional pancakes would otherwise.
