Because these days, even comedies aren’t allowed to have plot lines that aren’t approved by the guardians of “correct”.
In the 80’s, the Right were the guardians of Politically Correct. Now it’s the Left’s turn. The more things change…

“They can’t go back to their romance”. Of course not, it’s extremely inappropriate for a club owner to sleep with a player.

Hard disagree. The Nazi episode was a master class in farce, the mushroom episode was too notch. There hasn’t been a bad episode this season.

This season has been outstanding. Best season yet.

It might not be your thing. It’s okay to not like it, but you should also have the capacity to understand that just because you don’t like it, it can still be widely regarded as amazing television.

It’s cool if you disagree. Wednesday is a hit right now, but unlikely anyone will care about it a couple of years. Seinfeld has stood the test of time.

My point stands. Seinfeld will have far more minutes in 5 years time.

And how many minutes will Wednesday get 3 years from now when it’s not the new thing?
Cuz Seinfeld will still be racking up those numbers.

I just meant that the vast majority of comments seem to focus on relatively new shows, implying a younger audience/poster.
I'm sorry you feel that's patronizing, but you're projecting the reason as to why you think that.

Diane was often the "straight man" though, while Rebecca was played for laughs from the start.

Because people can't seem to get that comedy comes from extreme reactions and unexpected situations. They want utter reality when it comes to morals and ethics, but still have characters be wacky and funny.

And your second response is a perfectly valid opinion. Your first was laughable hyperbole. People can discuss whether or not they like the writing, or how they feel about the show.
But the discussion isn’t furthered by saying ridiculous things like you did earlier.
For the record, I want a second season, and I enjoyed the show a lot. I found the plotting to be fine, and apart from a few wince-worthy lines of dialogue, the writing wasn’t as terrible as you’re making it out to be.

I don’t think you believe that absolutely no one could want a second season. If you do actually believe that, you’re living in very tiny bubble.

The writing is often great, and the show is top notch, but if we're being honest, sometimes it does go up its own ass. Those moments of brilliance and excitement tend be surrounded by endless conversations that cover the same ground over and over.
