EveryPlate delivers six meals a week for two people to your door for ~$80 a week. They provide all the ingredients so all you need is staple items. This has made our grocery store trips much less expensive.

I acknowledged there are probably troll accounts dedicated to pushing a narrative.

I’m sure some are trolling. But many are likely real people expressing real fears about crime in their communities. It’s not being overly dramatic as many in this sub seem to believe it is.

You’re delusional if you earnestly believe DC doesn’t have a crime problem.

If you’re talking about the crazy lane closures and direction switches then I can see where you’re coming from. I’m just saying that compared to the vast majority of other roads in DC, Rock Creek is very tame. You have a far greater chance of being side swiped on any residential street.

Never drive in SWVA if Rock Creek scares you this much.

What? 😂😂😂 I’m an apologist for simply telling you that parking enforcement and MPD are different entities?? Have a good day my man, sounds like you’ll need it.

I’m still very confused as to where MPD is involved here in any fashion.

Right but in this case it sounds like OP dealt explicitly with parking enforcement so I’m not sure where you’re going with this.

DC parking enforcement is not the police.

Again, this further supports my claim that DC government is failing to address this issue. It can be fixed, they just refuse to do so. Incidents still happen in cities everywhere. Measures can be taken to mitigate them, however.

Both can be at fault. Cities all over the country absolutely have incidents between cars and pedestrians simply due to the nature of city driving. DC can also be especially bad because of the government’s ineptitude in addressing the issue. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

Welcome to living in cities. Lots of people (many of them reckless drivers) + lots of cars = incidents.

Society isn’t breaking down, DC government just sucks so badly and refuses to do anything about it.

Of course it’s not going to actually make them stop scamming. They’re scammers; it’s what they do. Shaming them, if not effective, is at least a comedic attempt at enforcing the social norm of not bothering random people for profit. Lighten up.

Definitely do not budget for $850/month in groceries. I can assure you OP is vastly overspending.
