I remember reading that when I looked up the history of the building, was sat in their "cellar bar" trying to imagine larpers running around the corridors.
Sounded absolutely fantastic, also very cool it kickstarted the movement in the UK.

"Across from the castle at Beeston, you can also see the hill next door which houses Peckforton Castle, Built in the 19th century for the MP Sir John Tollemache."
I spent a couple of nights there (Peckforton) just after Christmas.
Was in the UK to visit family and had a few trips planned, looking at accommodation around Chester and asked my partner "have you ever stayed in a castle?"
My partner is Aussie, even though they have a long history here they are quite lacking in castles, she was pretty pumped..

Reply to comment by Bajakid in Landscaper says business partner 'giggled' while telling him he'd bought an excavator, later found filled with cocaine by AFriendOfTheBees
$30k was on the company books as a cost of purchasing the machine.
A legitimate paper trail to cover the import..I'm just next to where this guy was based, street price for coke is around $300 AUD a gram and is likely to be 80% glucose

Reply to How can I install anchor bolts for a fence post base on a wall where the top layer is just an upturned breeze block covered in a thin layer of concrete? by BigBlueMountainStar
You mentioned cowboy builders right at the start and are now asking how to keep going down that route.
You might be able to find a workaround using the existing footing, but it's more than likely you will put a lot of time and effort and the end result will be a substandard product.
Pull out the blocks, dig a hole and lay new concrete.

"Any time you're drilling small metal bits use a vise or a pair of pliers, not your fingers. "
Was installing leaf guard for my old man and he wanted to help.
Essentially you remove the bottom row of screws, install mesh and screw down a saddle, like this
Even though the saddle and roof are pre drilled you need to do careful,I told him to keep a firm grip in the saddle when he first inserted the screw as it would catch and helicopter.
I reckon it was five minutes later he called me over to say he'd had a accident, really did a number on his hand.

You do realise that USAF pilots were using "pep" pills during the first gulf war?
[Of pilots who were surveyed, 65% used amphetamines during the deployment to the SWA AOR and/or during Operation Desert Storm. Pilots who used amphetamines in air operations described it as "occasional." The most frequent indications for amphetamine use were "aircrew fatigue" and "mission type." Of pilots who used amphetamines, 58-61% considered their use beneficial or essential to operations. ] (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7661838/)
You think the were more restrained in the 30's?
