Apparently these days, but back when it was first built people just... climbed it. No idea how the fuck they even got a boat close enough with waves like that though.

Reply to Valve answers our burning Steam Deck questions — including a possible Steam Controller 2 by retroanduwu24
I REALLY want a steam controller 2. I got the original one when it became free, and I still thought it sucked. Uncomfortable, and the shoulder buttons were laughable and how cheap they felt. It would be so cool to have them make a second revision with all the stuff they've learned from making the SteamDeck.

Reply to Did Bridge to Terabithia emotionally scar anyone else as much as it emotionally scarred me? by Getofffmycloud
It was weird for me. My class read the book after the movie trailers started airing, and they made it look like it was going to be another Narnia. I was pretty disappointed that it seemed to be about two kids just playing pretend in the woods. The story ended up being pretty good and the ending sad, but because I went in with different expectations it kind of took me out of it.

Nuclear bombs are basically designed to take out cities of innocents. If nuclear war breaks out, it's pretty much everyone trying to not be the last country to get completely erased from the surface of this planet.

Reply to If Ticketmaster was a bartender by Andosphere
Just got an alert this afternoon that a band I've always wanted to see was coming to town. Worst seats in the house were over $100, and they're not even that big of a band, nor playing at a huge venue. Ticketmaster can suck it

Some of these are really wrong. "OBS is an open source alternative to Adobe Premiere Pro," the fuck? Like saying parmesan cheese is an alternative to a hamburger. Not even close to the use cases for either software.
EDIT: It also appears that it's recommending open source alternatives to other open source software. It lists "BundleJS," as an open source alternative to Webpack and Rollup which are both MIT licensed to begin with, yet neither of those are actually listed on the site anywhere.

Yeah it's crazy to think ~80 or so years ago people treated most drugs, from marijuana to heroin, just like we treat we treat aspirin and coffee today.

Probably Naruto. Watched a bunch of it as a kid, and during highschool decided I wanted to finish the series. I got to episode 120something, and then learned that the story doesn't even end between the base series and Shippuden, meaning there was like 800 more episodes to watch. I just said fuck that and stopped watching.

Yeah, I fucking hate headlines like this. Pure sensationalism and stoking the fires without providing any useful information.

Absolutely loved it, especially the ending songs. When DDIWDD came on at the end of that one episode I lost my shit as I never would have expected a song like that on the soundtrack.

Small correction, not a dissociative, but a deliriant. Deliriants tend to be a much worse experience

Easy: Santa is illusive. You teach that DNA tests require a sample to match it to, so they'll hold onto her request, but unfortunately have to wait until they aquire a sample from Santa to match it to.
Now if she gets wise and says "ok, try to match it to a sample from my dad," that could get a bit trickier
